This is my pick for the sleeper-hit of the fall, or the most controversial movie of the fall. The cast is largely unknown, other than Dennis Haysbert. The film is about a group of African-American students dealing with racial politics and a predominantly white campus. It’s a comedic look at race relations, and looks to be pretty funny and unafraid to ruffle feathers of conservative movie-goers. The film won the 2014 Special Jury Award for Breakthrough Talent at the Sundance Festival.
Directed by David Ayer, and starring Brad Pitt, this film tells the story of sergeant named Wardaddy as he commands a Sherman tank with a crew of five during the end of World War II. The crew finds themselves outnumbered and outgunned against Nazi soldiers. The trailer of the film looks to be beautifully shot, judging by the trailer. Fury also stars Shia LaBeouf and Michael Pena.
