Lindsey Vonn Wins Bronze Medal in Women’s Super G Downhill
Lindsey Vonn almost won her second Olympic gold medal, during the Super G Downhill today. Unfortunately for her, Austrian skier Andrea Fischbacher was able to take first place – followed by Tina Maze of Slovakia. But Vonn was still able to take home the bronze medal, giving the U.S. seven medals total in five events.
About the finish Vonn says, “It wasn’t as clean as it could have been on the bottom part, and that is where I lost the race.” The skier added, “It’s not like me.” But in a positive light, Vonn said, “I can’t be too disappointed. It almost looks like a gold medal. I’m as proud of this as I am of my gold medal.”
