I have not read this book series. I have heard wonderful things about it, but I am just not much of a reader. This series of films are supposed to be fantastic. Movie goers in the United States are very lucky because the first film has already been released, this is out now, and the third film, The Girl who Kicked the Hornet’s Nest, can be enjoyed in theaters in a limited release in the coming weeks. Or if you are not a fan of subtitles, you can wait a year for David Fincher’s version of the first film in the series, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo.

Overall- Good film worthy of a recommendation. Grand Jury Prize at Sundance...ehhh. Nevertheless.
If there is one thing I didn't necessarily like about this film, it would have to be the payoff. Without saying too much, I think the ride was worth the price admission but the cart slid slightly off the tracks towards the end. For casual movie goers, I could see there needing to be more action and adrenaline to keep the interest intact, whereas here we see more emotion than energy diving the the plot.
For the casual movie goer looking to experience a soulless scavenger hunt in the same vein as Winter's Bone, I'd recommend last year's "The Road".
