Best Actress Winner 2010 – Sandra Bullock

Sandra Bullock has won the 2010 Oscar for Best Actress!

Sandra Bullock has had somewhat of a banner year, two hot releases, and one blemish. Bullock started out her year red hot with her role in the romantic comedy, The Proposal, with Ryan Reynolds. The actress then followed with the resounding failure, All About Steve, co-starring with rising star Bradley Cooper. Although, Bullock’s biggest success of the year came in the form of sports drama, The Blind Side. The Blind Side is the film based around real life NFL player Michael Oher, and his uplifting story of finding a home after years of strife and homelessness. Bullock plays the maternal Leigh Anne Tuohy, who takes in Oher and treats him as one of the family.

This was Bullock’s first Academy Award Nomination.

  • I think she did a great job. Not sure if it's Best Actress worthy, but when a film and actress picks up steam like she did, it's hard to deny the inevitable.

  • I think Monique's role was best actress caliber. She wasn't a supporting actress, but a co-lead. She had a lot of screen time and every moment was powerful. I don't even think Sandra's performance was one of the top five last year. I thought Mya Rudolph in "Away we Go" was better, I thought the actress from "Sin Nombre was better", both leads from precious were better. I think that Sandra's role was nothing but a rehash of the roles that Goldie Hawn (WILDCATS), Michelle Phieffer (Dangerous Minds), Hillary Swank (Freedom Writers), Jon Voight (Conrack) and Karen Valentine(room 222) all did. The youthful white person who comes in to save the young black kid from the dangers of the ghetto. It has been done so much that Jon lovitz has even spoofed the gendre.
