The stars aligned in St. Louis Tuesday evening at Stifel Theater as eager eventgoers braved the snow and harsh winter weather conditions to catch the Dancing with the Stars live tour. Instead of a star-studded cast from various sports, lifestyle and talent backgrounds, it was the crew of professional dancers that got the chance to shine on stage during the show.
Crowd favorite dancers such as Emma Slater, Alan Bersten, Brandon Armstrong, Britt Stewart, Daniellea Karagach, Gleb Savchenko, Pasha Pashkov, Rylee Arnold and Ezra Sosa were among the lineup for the showcase in St. Louis, and the tour also has a revolving cast of celebrities interspersed throughout various cities. St. Louis was lucky enough to get to see contestants Stephen Nedoroscik and Chandler Kinney show off their dance training as they recreated numbers from the previous season. While Mirrorball winners Joey Graziadei and Jenna Johnson were not in attendance of this specific stop on the tour, they are set to appear for several dates and cities yet to come.
Even without the mirror ball champions, the show was absolutely lavish as audiences were treated to the best of the best in ballroom technique and performances. An explosive entrance introduced each dancer and celebrity guest who each had ample stage time to explore different genres of traditional and modern ballroom numbers that featured a variety of music.
The show was split into two parts, with a brief twenty-minute intermission. Audiences were jiving in their seats to some upbeat music, featuring “yes, and?,” “APT,” “Born to Hand Jive,” and an epic remix of “Eye of the Tiger.” From the tango, the cha cha, to the waltz, and the quickstep, the dancers moved on and off stage for performance after performance. The most enjoyable aspect of the show was the Q & A portion that happened in between numbers that saw Nedoroscik and Kinney, as well as the cast of dancers, answering questions about their time on the recent season of DWTS. It was an evening of delight and joy, and the artistry of dance was truly brought to the stage by a perfectly curated set of performances.
