Tiger Woods Update – Watch Press Conference Apology Video Online

Tiger Woods made his big press conference apology this afternoon, his first public appearance since the scandal broke.

Late last year, Tiger Woods destroyed his once stellar reputation. Women all across the united states came out detailing their affairs with the married superstar golfer. Since then, the golfer has been taking a break and hoping that the pad press will die down. Some sponsors have dropped the athlete, and some have stood by his side.

From the New York Daily News, here is what celebrities are saying about Tiger’s apology:

ABC’s George Stephanopoulos called the speech “one of the most remarkable public apologies ever by a public figure.”

“He (Tiger) left nothing on the table,” Stephanopoulos said. “This is a man who has thought a lot about what he did.”

Rick Cerrone, former New York Yankees public relations director, disagreed. “What I saw was arrogance. … It was basically an infomercial,” he said on CNN.

CBS’ David Feherty, who has covered Woods on the circuit, said, “I have never seen him appear so vulnerable. … I was very impressed with what he said.”

“The vast number of people just want their Tiger Woods back,” Feherty said.

Harvey Levin, head of TMZ, gave Tiger an A for effort.

“Obviously I watched,” he wrote on Twitter. “I think he hit the right notes. In a big way. He’s not converting everyone today, but this is the foundation. An A!”

At least one celebrity wasn’t letting Woods off so easily.

“Tiger, wa, wa, wa!” tweeted Patti Stanger, relationship expert and star of Bravo’s “The Millionaire Matchmaker.” “That was a ploy to save sponsors. I can read body language. He’s not sorry. I bet he called [alleged mistress] Rachel Uchitel this morning.”

“Saturday Night Live” head writer Seth Meyers had a lighter critique of Woods’ speech. “To come out of this scandal and still be named valedictorian is an amazing accomplishment for Tiger,” he tweeted.

  • Who really cares how is he any different from any other ordianry man who cheats on his wife.....he still is wrong and the wife is still being burned they dont think about theirs wives and the dont think about what this does to the children, his family!

  • TIGER DID MORE THAN HE SHOULD OF. WHAT HE IS GOING THROUGH IS BETWEEN TIGER & HIS FAMILY. HE SAID HE WAS SORRY & THAT HE WAS WORKING ON HIS PROBLEMS. NO ONE IS W/OUT SIN. HE'S THE BEST WHEN IT COMES TO GOLF. BUT THAT DOS'NT GIVE ANYONE THE RITE TO FOLLOW HIS KIDS & GIVE OUT THERE PRIVATE INFO FOR THE WORLD & THE CRAZY'S OUT THERE (POPAROTZE). LEAVE THEM ALONE!!!

  • Tiger thank you for your apology. The only people you should have to your sorry to is your wife your kids and your mother and the people that work for you. The public should not have put you up on such a high pedestal you are a man you are human just like every one else!!! It has to be hard not to do bad things when you have every thing... it is much easier to fall than it is to be pulled up. The women you had sex with are worst than you they knew you were married. they should apologies to your wife and mother. The public should apologies to your family. your privet life should be that privet

  • How sad that this man has to stand in front of the world and admit his sins. The rest of us only need to confess our sins in private. I am appalled by his behavior. But, only wish him the best in his recovery. God bless him and his family.

  • While your speech was good. I never heard you ask for forgiveness. I applaude both you and Elin for your strength and dedication to your family and marriage. This happend to me
When I was asked for a divorce my comment to my husband was. " My vows were between you me and God. God and I were going to keep our vows." After over a year in therapy we repeated our vows before man and God and are now on our 35th wedding anniversary. Tiger, humble yourself and ask for forgiveness. You have the spiritual strength to do this simple act. If you can not ask for forgiveness how are we to forgive you?

  • It is time to allow the man to prove his words through action. He said his peace, goals an expectations to the world. It is now time for the world to allow him to prove his value as a man.

  • everyone needs to mind their own business and leave Tiger and his family alone he is only human I wonder how many people out there have done the same thing jus because he is famous doesn't mean he can't make mistakes.I find it disturbing that people would target an innocent two year old jus to get the big story u people are the ones who need help.Good luck Tiger to tou and your beautiful family.

  • George Stephanopoulos' comment about this being the "best apology ever by a public figure" is...well, I am ROTFL. Tiger should have had this speech memorized if this were a deeply felt apology. I suppose his speech writer and his acting coach did not allow for enough practice time. Give him a golf club and some sponsor money and throw in a few waitresses - he does not need practice for that. I hope his wife and sponsors leave and do not look back...cause that man would still be wreckless today if he would not have gotten caught. Once or twice would have been forgivable.
