This weekly article is a not-so-subtle reminder of all the albums of the past that made it to number 1 before the digital music age. Yes, there was a time before insta-music, a time when kids waited at midnight on the day an album dropped, in a real brick and mortar record store. That was the past, and now in the age of instant gratification, its hard to remember what happened yesterday, much less 15 years ago. Besides, weren’t most scenesters like 7 in 1995? Don’t worry, I still plan on reviewing current music, but new music is for Tuesdays, and Thursdays are for the past.
If you own the album, go find the CD, dust it off and give it another listen. If you have never heard this album and you like R&B, go download it immediately. After all, it was a number 1 record…in 1995.

Ahhh brings me back to the days when I sprayed my hair within an inch of its life to create a 'Parkway Poof'... thanks for the nostalgia :)
I forgot about this! I was always a closet fan of their ballads. Thanks for the reminder! I can't wait to see what you review next Thursday.
Nice review - can we get a nostalgic look back at Bell Biv Devoe next week?
Parkway poofs are my secret turn-on.
Boyz II Men, ABC, BBD (mmm, hmmmmm)
Great article! I used to listen to them all the time!
Wow!! Boys II Men sends me back to way back to Junior High. Oh and my Mom Listens to then in the car.
I had a Parkway Poof too! In 7th grade. However, I was not in 7th grade in 1995. Alas, I was pink and black haired emo girl then. HOT!
Now, as for the album, I've never heard it, but I will download it for kicks. :)
(Great post!)
