Yeah, so that sounds like a long time right? It is because it is. To be honest this is good news. It means the studio isn’t rushing it out to capitalize on the success of the first film, and it will give the people associated with the project plenty of time to come up with a decent script to shoot with. J.J Abrams and crew should be back for the sequel. Expect the entire cast to be back for the sequel (and I would guess at least one more flick after). My prediction is a Dark Knight like summer for Star Trek in 2012.
So, what is the official date? June 29, 2012.
Luckily, for everyone the world doesn’t end until December of that year. Although, if you want to see it you’ll probably want to see it in theaters and not wait for the DVD….
