Rumor Mill: Quentin Tarantino a Smurf?

How I always pictured Brainy Smurf.

Alan Cumming, who is playing Gutsy Smurf, in the new live action/CG hybrid Smurf movie is saying that Quentin Tarantino is signing on to the film as Brainy Smurfy, the right hand man of Papa Smurf.

How valid is this rumor? Probably not very. Although, Tarantino has appeared in other people’s films before, but I don’t see him as the type of guy who would take a role in a film like this.  Although, I wouldn’t count him out either. If Tarantino has proved one thing over the years, it is that he marches to the beat of his own drum.

I’m not really a fan of Tarantino’s acting, but I still think it would be neat to see him in such a tame and pedestrian type of role.

The Smurfs is a live action and CG hybrid film starring Neil Patrick Harris (read our article here). The film will be directed by Raja Gosnell, and will feature Jonathan Winters, Katy Perry, George Lopez, and Alan Cumming as voices for the Smurfs. The film is set to be released August 3, 2011.
