Emily Wallace kicked the night off at the Old Rock House this past Thursday Evening. Emily only had a few days notice to agree to play this gig and she was prepared. Minus a quick switch at guitar, she spoke about her love for St. Louis’ South Side and performed her original songs titled ‘Southside Girl’ and ‘South City.’ During her show she took us back and covered Smokey Robinson & The Miracles’ ‘Hold on Me.’

Miles Nielson & The Rusted Hearts performed amazing songs that they wrote during their St. Louis Sessions. Their sound is a mix between Western influenced rock music and 60’s soul. The 5-part band, covered songs from their current album, Heavy Metal and their album from 2011 titled “Miles Nielson Presents The Rusted Hearts”. The Rockford, Il., band is currently on tour.
