Movies About Art Thieves, In Honor of ‘Trance’ In Theaters Today!

Movie #6 – Never Dull a Moment

Year – 1968

Dick Van Dyke stars as a second-rate actor who gets mistaken for first-rate gangster and is forced to help steal Van Gogh’s “Field of Sunflowers”. Make no mistake; this wasn’t Van Dyke’s attempt to become a dramatic actor. This was one of those wacky Disney comedies with bright colors and zany hijinks. The film’s finale featured an elaborate set piece that revolved around a museum-bound chase scene across various modern art sculptures.

I saw this movie as a child but I remember very little of it other than the fact that it was the only film I ever saw in the theater with my grandfather.
