Eliminations of Haeley and Jermaine were expected but Michelle was surprising, and while John didn't have the best performance, his fan base was huge which goes to show that Idols worries that fans base would sway votes was clearly unwarranted. What I've noticed is that the recordings available on itunes are dramatically better than the live performances and it brings up this important question. Are we looking for a great recording artist, or a great performing artist. I think we generally prefer recording artist and are more lenient on performances and expect it to be slightly weaker than the recording. That's a major point on the official Baduku channel for AI9, check it out here at http://www.baduku.com/americanidol9, it's probably the only life ranking sites for AI9 right now.
