The ‘Super Groovy Cartoon Movie’ will earn Jason Mewes his first film producing credit in a long career working with Kevin Smith. The film not only features the voice talents of Mewes, Smith and their SModCast cohorts – but also Eliza Dushku, Tara Strong, Ralph Garman, Neil Gaiman, Ben Gleib, and Jon Lovitz. Steve Stark, who animates the SModimations which the movie is modeled after, is directing the film.
Jay and Silent Bob are taking a play out of the Red State playbook and touring with the film themselves. Not only does it save them money on distribution, but also gives them a chance to interact with their fans. Each stop on the tour features a “Jay and Silent Bob Get Old” Q&A session after the movie.
