Batman Live Show Launched – World Arena Tour Video and Pictures

Holy world arena tour Batman!

Ideas for live Batman shows, musicals, theatre productions, etc. have been thrown around for a long time now. The closest that came to fruition as of late was Warner’s “Batman: The Musical” – but it was canceled due to low expectations. Well, it looks like the wait is finally over for comic book fans everywhere to see their favorite caped crime-fighter up close and personal.

Warner Brothers announced that “Batman Live – World Arena Tour,” an action-packed live show, will be touring arenas in the UK and Europe as soon as summer 2011. The North American tour will arrive shortly after in 2012. The show is said to feature “stunts, pyrotechnics, illusions and video screen sequences,” according to broadwayworld.com. The show will not be a musical, and is an all-new original creation for the tour.

Here is the synopsis of ‘Batman Live’ from the official website:
For the first time in DC Comics history, see Batman the world’s most popular DC Super Hero as you’ve never seen him before, in an all-new, live-action arena adventure, set to take the world by storm. Premiering in the UK in Summer 2011, Batman Live – World Arena Tour is a multi-million pound stage production of unprecedented scale and a must-see for families and Batman fans everywhere.

Based on an original story being created exclusively for the show, BATMAN LIVE is a theatrical extravaganza of thrilling stunts, acrobatic acts and illusions. • What a shame that this warrants space on your theatre page, but never any actual local theatre reviews. So the ironically named ReviewSTL still doesn't review local theatre and that sucks.
