Watchmen News and other links for 7/25

Ok, so it’s actually links and a few Watchmen tidbits, but I am beyond excited for this movie, probably not a good thing. Anyways, here, we, go!

-Here is a cool gallery of The Owl Ship from the Watchmen at Comic Con. And an old Minutemen pic from the film above. Also, here is a Sally Jupiter voyeur poster from the film.

-Here is a behind the scenes of Watchmen that gives us our first look at Rorschach out of the mask. And WB is producing an episodic Watchmen downloadable game for XBOX360, PS3, and PC. And here is a blog of the SDCC presentation.

-The Dark Knight destroyed just about every single record imaginable, and when its all said and done, this movie is going to be ranked about 2nd all-time I imagine (edit-Bale might have ruined this if he really beat up his family members). Here is another run down of records.

Zack and Miri Make a Porno got and NC-17 rating, it will probably get pumped to R eventually, but hopefully this cut ends up on DVD.

-Louis Leterrier talks about another Hulk, Hulk deleted scenes, and Captain America, all sound intriguing.

-This idea for Top Gun 2 sounds terrible; I’d probably still see it. “That’s right, Ice-Man, I am dangerous.”

-Tom Jane’s new flick, The Dark Country, sounds pretty wicked technically, and Ron Perlman is in it, so it’s got that going for it.

-Brad Anderson, The Machinist and Transsiberian, talks about upcoming projects and a possible re-teaming with Christian Bale.

-Here is a preview for Caprica, the Battlestar Galactica origin pilot movie that will premiere before the final season starts up in January.

-McG talks about Terminator Salvation over on the films official blog.

Ninja Assassin could be good, there is a nice creative team behind it at least.

-A Versus remake for the U.S. from the same creative team, could be interesting.

-A funny response to the Dr. Horrible Sing-Along Blog, an application to be his side kick.

-Ewan McGregor’s cross country motorcycle mini series has spawned a feature on another trek across the African continent, Long Way Down, here is the site.

-Another Robot Chicken Star Wars, you betcha, and I can’t wait as the first is comedy gold.

-The studios continue to try and find new takes on the Superhero franchise. This time they are getting Bryan Singer involved. It’s about the guys who shoot the footage of the superheroes. Singer also has a jet pack racing film called, Freedom Formula, he is working on.

-Joss Whedon shot a new pilot for Dollhouse, as to better introduce the show, the original pilot will now be the second episode.

-Peter Berg (Hancock) is rebooting Hercules for a new generation, I am assuming this will take on a 300 style approach to the material. Let’s hope Berg figures out how to shoot a fight scene by the time the film starts rolling. He also has to do Dune before this as well, though that will probably get delayed.

-D.J. Caruso talks about Y: The Last adaptation he is working on at a preview screening of some footage of the very intriguing looking Eagle Eye.

-Tim Burton has found his Alice, in Wonderland, the project is a Disney Digital 3-D live action picture set to come out 2010.

-A Rocky Horror Picture Show remake, some people are going to hurt somebody over this.

-Holy rip-off Batman! Jenifer’s Body, a Diablo Cody penned horror flick with Megan Fox, has stolen their teaser poster straight from True Blood. Like exactly.

Anchorman 2 seems more and more real. This time it may be 80’stacular.

-Here is a trailer for The Brothers Bloom, one of my most anticipated films of the year, as it is the sophomore effort of Brick direct Rian Johnson.

-They are making a 3-D Tron 2, that has to get some 80’s fans excited.

-DiCaprio is apparently trying to get a new film version of the Twilight Zone.

-Darren Aronofsky is doing a Robocop sequel, I don’t know about this, but I will follow Aronofsky anywhere.

Harold and Kumar will be in trouble next year again as well. NPH better be there.

-A Gears of War film is getting closer to being a reality.

-Here is a report on the Wolverine panel at SDCC on Thursday night, Gambit, The Blob, Deadpool, and plenty of beserker action was to be seen. I bet you could google this footage by now as well.

-Here is a report from the Twilight panel at SDCC.

-Benicio Del Toro’s The Wolfman site is live with a couple of pics and a synopsis.

The Matrix goes Blu, finally, October 14th.

-Here is a report on the Red Sonja panel, which is Robert Rodriguez’s next.

That’ll do it.

  • I was not shocked by this film, which continues along the path of desensitization which is part of Hollywood's mandate to bring about sympathy for antichrist and his mark. Notice Dr. Manhattan bears the symbol of an atom on his forehead... this fulfills the prophecy that the mark of the beast will be the number of a man (adam = atom = ATM). Also notice he goes to Mars, in line with antichrist's worship of a 'god of war' (Mars). Then the more obvious usurping of the role of creator of life, etc. Some have remarked his character is gentle, but recall his blowing various people to smithereens in the film. The whole bent of the vigilantes is lawlessness. I think the watchmen are representative of the fallen angels mentioned in Genesis and Enoch ('The Watchers'), who sinned by going into women and teaching humanity about technology and drugs. Note how slick Hollywood makes hand and face scanning seem, to pursue the theme of desensitization, even to the point now that Americans think it part of 'peace and safety' (read security) to cause people at borders entering to have a retinal and hand scan... we are like the frog, slowly being boiled...
