Update: It seems LATimes has talked with Summit’s production head Erik Feig and he says they haven’t signed anyone yet, but he didn’t discount Bayona either, so here is hoping he gets the job.

Juan Antonio Bayona who directed the very creepy and old school horror tale The Orphanage has apparently been signed on to do Eclipse. This is contrary to early reports that the Weitz brothers would just flip flop producing and directing duties from the second to third film.
Personally, this has me very excited as I was a big fan of The Orphanage and think the Twilight films have some serious potential to be quite good.
Here is hoping this director sticks and the Twilight Saga gets as good as it is capable of being. Check out the full story here.
