Restaurant Review – The Elephant Bar

The Elephant Bar

The Elephant Bar is a wonderful restaurant located just behind West County Mall.

Despite the name, you will not find any elephants here – and as disappointing as that is, you will also not see any elephants wearing human clothing and drinking vodka tonics.

Here is a list of cool things you will find at the elephant bar though…

An extensive menu: I recommend setting aside at least 45 minutes if you plan on looking at every item on it. Overwhelming is the only word to describe the menu. It ranges from sandwiches and sliders to tofu and curry. Thankfully they break it down into categories for you including burgers, Pacific Rim specialties, and regional favorites, just to name a few. I will say that the few times I’ve found myself at the Elephant Bar I’ve never been disappointed with their food. The sushi is even good here, which is random.

Alcohol: While they can’t boast to having the largest bar in the world, they might be in the running for having the most distracting collection of ceiling fans ever gathered under one roof. What I do find impressive here is that their bartenders make a mojito the way it is suppose to be made which includes cane sugar and actually muddling the mint leaves. Although you might have to be a 14 year old girl to think the drinks here are strong, for me that meant falling back to Plan B: beers and Black and Tans.

Other cool thingies: If you treat your server nicely, they may provide you with a buy one get one appetizer coupon. I’ve gotten a hand full of them the 2 out of 3 times I’ve been there, and saving a little dough is always a bonus.

So a quick recap. The food is good. The drinks are good. No elephants /sadface. There are lots of ceiling fans. Free appetizer (if you’re cool).
