A documentary about the first single manned non-stop boat race around the world, The Golden Globe Race, is the focus of this documentary. Following personal accounts, footage from the racers out on the sea, and the journals and logs they kept we get a look into the life out on the seas, alone, for over 200 Days. The story follows three of the contestants, two of them more than the third, but looks into what it was like for them on the sea. I can’t go into it much without ruining it but, the main focus falls on Donald Crowhurst who is a very interesting and complex subject, though time would have been better spent with a little bit more screen time for Santiago Franchessie. His struggle on the sea is not as challenging, but is in my opinion more interesting. Either way, this is a decent documentary, worth catching on cable or renting down the line.
