‘Percy Jackson and the Olympians’ International Trailer

Another day and another new trailer for Percy Jackson.  I’m a bit of a mythology buff, and the concept seems pretty cool. It still seems that Columbus is trying to recreate Harry Potter again after leaving the series after two films. He seems to be drawing from that series quite a bit in the look and feel of the films. The cast looks good, and the story is prime for sequels. The release date doesn’t look like it is a hopeful for a breakout hit. Columbus’ last few projects don’t give me much faith in the project. Although, this could be a breakout hit for the time of year it comes out. Plenty of kids can play their wish fulfillment fantasies out with a young demi-god.

Synopsis:

The son of Poseidon travels the Earth with the hopes of quelling a battle of the gods in this adaptation of the first book in Rick Riordan’s best-selling children’s book series. Veteran director Chris Columbus (Home Alone, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone) directs from his own script with co-writer Craig Titley. 3:10 to Yuma’s Logan Lerman toplines a godlike cast that includes Uma Thurman, Pierce Brosnan, and Sean Bean. ~ Jeremy Wheeler, All Movie Guide

Cast: Logan Lerman, Alexandra Daddario, Brandon T. Jackson, Uma Thurman, Pierce Brosnan, Sean Bean
Director: Chris Columbus
Genres: Fantasy
Release Date: February 12, 2010
