Movies Boost Book Sales, according to USA Today

This week, ReviewSTL was holding two contests at the same time to win passes for movies that were adapted from bestselling novels. The movies are “JULIE & JULIA,” based on books written by Julia Child and Julie Powell, and “The Time Traveler’s Wife,” written by Audrey Niffenegger.” According to a report by USA Today, three movies already this year have catapulted the novels onto the USA Today bestsellers list. They are: Stephenie Meyers’ “Twilight” (Reaching the #1 spot four times), “My Sister’s Keeper” by Jodi Picoult (#1 one time), and most recently “Julie & Julia: My Year of Cooking Dangerously” by Julie Powell (currently #1).

The film adaptation ofThe Time Traveler’s Wife,”written by Audrey Niffenegger, opens next Friday nationwide.
