A new feature I am going to try and keep up on around here is a round up of links and things I think are worth checking out around the web about Film and DVD’s, so keep an eye out for this new posting at least once a week!
Links, Links, and more Links!!!
-Robert Downey Jr.’s next project looks to possibly be a graphic novel adaptation of “Cowboy’s and Aliens” an interesting turn twist on history. The American West settlers who are running the Native Americans off their land with violence are suddenly becoming the hunted when an alien spacecraft falls in the middle of the land war.
-Apparently Wall-E is flipping amazing; god I can’t wait!
-L.A. Confidential is getting a new SE DVD and Blu-Ray, great news for one of the best films of the nineties and the best of 97.
-Len Wiseman (Underworld and Live Free, or Die Hard) is lined up to direct the long gestating Gears of War movie, which could be could based off my experience with the game. This one could be a huge action, sci-fi, fantasy flick for next winter or summer of 10.
-Stan Winston passed away this week and Aint It Cool News is putting together a nice tribute with responses from a lot of big names. If you love Terminator 2, Jurassic Park, Iron Man, Alien, then you loved his work, give this a read.
-Here is a list of Home Video Magazines Best DVD’s of 07
–Kill Bill is going Blu, but still as two movies, with The Whole Bloody Affair hopefully hitting next year.
-Here is AFI’s latest lists; they name the Top 10 of 10 of individual genres.
-The trailer for The Curious Case of Benjamin Button is finally online in high quality, and is probably my most anticipated live action film of the year, as well as one of the best trailers you will ever see! If you aren’t in the know, this is Brad Pitt and David Fincher’s latest collaboration.
-More Brad Pitt, with a bit of Clooney, all in name on the poster for the Coen Bros. next, Burn After Reading, looks good, trailer is on iTunes and a teaser is right here.
-The Love Guru is apparently god awful; here is Harry Knowles funny and spoiler free review.
-Iron Man is the first to $300 Million; if you’re into that sort of thing.
-Sienna Miller will star as Maid Marian in the backwards Robin Hood retelling, Nottingham, staring Russell Crowe as the sheriff and directed by Ridley Scott.
-DreamWorks is trying to become its own entity and leave Paramount.
-More Bond is going Blu, 6 titles will be released this October, with the rest rumored to come out with home video release of Quantum Solace.
-An Apatow 3-Pack is looking to be one of the best DVD bundles in a while, especially if you want to go Blu. Forgetting Sarah Marshall, Knocked Up, and 40 Year Old Virgin are what you get.
-Inglorious Bastards, Tarantino’s next, will be two films. This one has had me excited with anticipation for years
