All joking aside, I really did know very little about this musical adaptation. I know Tom Hooper, Oscar winner for “The King’s Speech”, is directing. I know that it has an all star cast that includes Anne Hathaway, Hugh Jackman, Russell Crowe, Amanda Seyfried, Sacha Baron Cohen, Helena Bonham Carter, and Eddie Redmayne. I now know, thanks to IMDB, that it is “set in 19th-century France, in which a paroled prisoner named Jean Valjean seeks redemption.”
I love musicals in general, and when done correctly, they are some of my favorite films of all time. I anticipate this just may join that list. The costumes, the sets, and the cinematography all look spectacular. Unfortunately, we all have to wait until December 14, 2012 to see it.
