(KTVI – FOX2now.com) – Two St. Louis area filmmakers in Africa survive the plane crash that killed their pilot. The two young men are even well enough to talk to reporters in Kenya. The plane went down in a fiery crash in Nairobi, Kenya after hitting a telephone pole and slamming into a building.
Residents rushed to put out the flames and help those on board the Cessna 206, including 25 year old Dan Parris of Manchester and 26-year old Robert Leher of Ballwin. They both survived the crash
Kevin Brackett, a friend, says Parris and Leher hitch hiked to Africa to film a documentary about poverty for a humanitarian organization and had taken a plane ride to get aerial video.
Leher and Paris had been filming in Africa about a month. Leher has minor injuries. Paris suffered severe burns and broken bones.
