George Clooney Set to Star in “The Monster of Florence”

This is what The Holleywood Reporter has to say:

“Preston and Spezi’s book is an investigation into the murderer (or murderers) known as Il Mostro, who killed more than a dozen people from the late 1960s to the mid-1980s without being caught. In the course of their digging, Preston, who had moved with his family to a villa in Florence, and Spezi, an Italian crime journalist, were themselves then investigated by the police.”

The book mentioned is titled The Monster of Florence.  United Artists bought the rights to the film in 2008 with Tom Cruise once attached to star.  Now Clooney is reported to star in the film as the author Preston.

I think it is safe to be excited about anything George Clooney chooses to do these days.  I have really enjoyed five of his last six films.  Now maybe Clooney doesn’t care about the film at all, and he just wants a vacation in Florence.  But realistically I don’t think Clooney needs to pick a film just to go on vacation.
