Gentleman Broncos – HD Trailer

Here is the latest from Napoleon Dynamite writer/director Jared Hess. It looks to have the same style quirkiness as Napoleon Dynamite and Nacho Libre. The thing about this movie is that the trailer didn’t impress me at all, but the people involved with it are all people I hold in high esteem. Sam Rockwell is one of Hollywood’s best in my opinion and any film can only be improved upon by his presence.  Michael Angarano is someone who has excellent turns in such films as, Black Irish and Snow Angels. Jemaine Clement is doing a lot more around town it seems than Flight of the Conchord’s  buddy Bret McKenzie, and luckily seems to be playing a role completely different from his role on his show. This movie looks like it is odd to be odd, and not as funny and clever as it thinks. One of the things that made Napoleon Dynamite work for everyone is that it was something new and unique, now that Hess is just regurgitating his old material it might now be as well thought out.

Synopsis:

Benjamin (Michael Angarano), home-schooled by his eccentric mother (Jennifer Coolidge), is a loveable loner whose passion for writing leads him on an offbeat and hilarious journey as his story first gets ripped off by the legendary fantasy novelist, Ronald Chevalier (Jemaine Clement) and then is adapted into a disastrous movie by the small town’s most prolific homespun filmmaker.
