Facebook and Skype alliance

It seems that Facebook Inc. and internet phone provider Skype are on the verge of announcing a partnership on communication services.  This partnership will allow Facebook users to sign into Skype using Facebook connect.  Once in, users will be able to text and both video and voice chat with their Facebook friends from inside Skype.  Users will also be able to merge contacts.  Skype 5.0 , which is set to be released in a few weeks, will include the new functions.

My opinion on this is while I like the integration of the two companies, I don’t see the point.  I guess its to have all your contacts in one place, which is beneficial, but only slightly, and probably not enough for most people who use both services to make the change.  I could be wrong, and hopefully I am as I like both of these companies.
