2010 San Diego Comic Con – DC Universe Online – “Who Do You Trust?” HD Trailer

I’m not really an MMORPG (Massive Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game, for those not in the know) type of person, but within the next year there are two MMO’s that I am looking forward to, that I will probably have to break down, and upgrade my computer to current gaming levels. The first of these games is Sony Entertainment’s DC Universe Online.  They are at long last giving me a chance to make my own hero who will team up with the likes of Superman, Batman, and the rest of the Justice League. This any geek’s dream!

I do have a few slight reservations about the game. The first is the fact that Sony Online Entertainment is the one who is releasing the game, and their record in the MMO world is not exactly spotless. They were responsible for the fiasco that was Star Wars Galaxies. (Which luck would have it that Bioware’s Star Wars: The Old Republic is the other MMO I am looking forwards to.) The second is that they are also porting this to the PS3, and MMOs don’t seem to translate that well to consoles, and I think they might ruin the quality of the PC version by dumbing it down to the lowest common denominator. Don’t get me wrong I’m a console gamer, but historically MMOs that have been ported have not been well received.

As long as the makers of this game give plenty of customization, think City of Heroes or Champions Online, and make sure there is solid gameplay behind it as well, it should be a sure fire winner.

Check out the awesome trailer below, and let us know what you think!

  • Screw the darned game...WILL SOMEBODY PLEASE MAKE THAT TRAILER INTO A MOVIE?? I'd be thrilled if it they kept in that style of animation and delivered ... A FREAKING MOVIE!
I don't do online games because I don't believe in paying a monthly fee to keep playing a game designed to keep me playing to keep me paying. I don't do casino's, carnival games or lotto tickets either! But that's just me. I think that "game" trailer is the best MOVIE TRAILER I've EVER SEEN!!
    WOW!!!
