SNL has gotten off to a bit of a rocky start this year. With newcomer Jenny Slate dropping an F-bomb last week, and on this weeks show Lady Gaga cursed in one of her songs. Luckily, it is a late night show past prime time and there won’t be fines for either show. I’m of the opinion that a little cursing never hurt anyone, so let them do it!
Here is Ryan Reynold’s opening monologue:
I really liked when no one in the audience showed any interest in Green Lantern. Is this because no one is really familiar with the superhero. I was always under the impression he was a popular superhero, but then again I am a huge geek.
SNL Digital Short:
I’m not sure how a I feel about this one. It probably flows the worst out of any of the digital shorts lately, and the joke kind of wears thin at the end. The savior of the piece? The appearance of Elijah Wood and Ryan Reynolds tasing Samberg’s character.
Deep House Dish:
This will most likely be the most talked about clip of the night. If you can sit through all the boring stuff, you can sit through more boring stuff, but this time with a special appearance from Lady GaGa and Madonna. The best thing I can say about this clip is now people have to agree with me when I tell them that Lady GaGa is just using the Madonna playbook.
So You Committed a Crime…And You Think You Can Dance?:
Who doesn’t like making fun of the less fortunate? Oh, and by less fortunate I mean K-Fed. Just remember K-Fed, imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, even if it makes you look like a fat idiot. This sketch was easily the funniest of the night for me. Everyone played their parts pretty well, and it contained a good few laughs.
