The Missouri Botanical Garden Whitaker Music Festival continues tonight with the Kevin Lucas Orchestra. The concert takes place at the Missouri Botanical Garden Outdoor Cohen Amphitheater at 7:30 pm. The Kevin Lucas Orchestra creates music that is a mixture of adult contemporary rock and world music flavor. The group consists of marimba and percussion, guitar and vocals, bass, drums, and saxophones and flute. This unique sound is what has helped win them awards such as ‘Adult Contemporary Group of the Year” through New Music Weekly Magazine in 2009 and ‘Best Pop Act’ at the People’s Music Awards in London in 2009.
